Beginning Your Skincare Regimen for Spring

If you live in an area whereby the seasons are prone to change significantly throughout the year (rather than a mild, temperate part of the world that doesn’t see much change throughout) it’s important that you have a different skincare regimen for each season so to continually look your best, and keep your skin feeling healthy and beautiful.

There are a number of skincare products out there that claim to be the best, whereas in reality, the best skincare product for you will not only depend on the season (winter products don’t work well in spring, for example), but also on what else you’re doing to keep your skin looking fresh and youthful. Once you move from winter to springtime it’s a good idea for you to begin a whole new skincare regimen designed specifically for the season. This regimen should include the following:

Exfoliating from Head to Toe

The difference in the amount of skin you’ll be exposing to the world in the springtime compared to the winter is enormous, therefore as soon as the weather starts to become that little bit warmer it’s important for you to exfoliate your entire body, from head to toe, and ensure you continue doing so on a regular basis so to remove your dead skin cells and give yourself a whole new, warm complexion.

If you, by principle, only use natural exfoliation products, there are a number of stores online that can supply your needs. Check out Beautorium for exfoliators, cleansers, and moisturizers, as well as a number of similar sites. Exfoliation is, without doubt, the most important thing you can do during your springtime skincare regimen.

Remaining Hydrated

Though not often added to lists of this sort due to it having nothing specifically to do with your skincare per say, in reality drinking a lot of water and remaining hydrated has a huge positive impact on the quality of your skin, especially as you move into spring and summer, where you naturally have to drink more water anyway.

Due to large amounts of moisture being sweated out of your skin, it’s crucial that you keep replacing this moisture by continually drinking water, as to not do so will result in your skin drying out, regardless of any moisturizer you’ve placed on top of it.

Jumping in Feet First

As soon as spring rolls around it’s time to let your feet loose and make up for lost time by pampering them something rotten! Our poor feet spend so much of the winter months hidden away that by springtime you owe it to them to do your level best to bring them back up to scratch.

To do this, soak your feet in warm water before giving them a nice, long massage. You can use scrubs too if you like, though be careful not to be too rough with your feet too early on. Often this pampering process can take a number of days (it’s enjoyable, after all), allowing you to lead up to rougher scrubs. Once they’re back up to scratch you’ll likely want to paint your nails to show them off in public for the first time this year, making sure to choose your favourite pair of sandals before you head out.

Wearing Lighter Makeup

Whereas dark makeup colours a fine, and even encouraged, during the winter, as you move into spring you’re going to want to show off a more natural glow, therefore leave behind your dark lipsticks and eye shadows and replace them with much more subtle colours. Though it’s totally fine for you to wear lipstick during the night time, it’s recommended that you stick to lip gloss during the daytime, as this is much less aggressive and allows you to show off the natural colours, and beauty, of your lips under a spring sun.

In conclusion, if you live in an area whereby the seasons are prone to change significantly throughout the year, it’s important that you have a different skincare regimen for each season so to continually look your best, and keep your skin feeling healthy and beautiful.
